Assessment accommodation

In order to submit a COMPLETE application, you must:

Duties

We’re looking for talented creatives who can tell high-impact stories through video, photo, graphics, and other design products, and who can take the lead on projects from planning through delivery. You’ll work closely with clients and your team to advise on how best to communicate to our target audiences, and then see your work shared through a variety of channels, both online and in print.

Within a fun and supportive team environment, each team member provides advice directly to clients, managers, on creative concepts for multimedia and partners with colleagues in the broader communications team.

Work environment

ESDC endeavours to accommodate flexible work arrangements. The Creative Services Division at ESDC operates in an Apple environment, and uses Adobe Creative Cloud as our standard creative software.

Intent of the process

The intent of this process is to create a pool of partially qualified candidates.

We have two (2) positions to fill at the IS-04 level. A pool of qualified candidates may also be created for future needs.

This pool may be used to staff similar positions with various language requirements (English or French essential, bilingual imperative BBB/BBB, etc.), various tenures (indeterminate, specified period), or security profiles.

We may appoint candidates by applying one or more of the following criteria:

• Breadth, depth, type of specific work experience
• Matching individual experience or qualifications to the strengths and/or weaknesses of the work team
• Matching individual experience or qualifications to the specific duties of the position being staffed

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

Education:
A degree from a recognized post-secondary institution, or an acceptable combination of education*, training and/or experience, at the manager’s discretion.

*an acceptable combination can include 2-year college diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution.

Degree equivalency

Experience:
*Recent experience in planning, producing and hands-on development of high-end and professional quality **digital communication products using Adobe’s Creative Cloud software for dissemination on multiple web and social media platforms and channels.

Experience in advising supervisors, managers and project leads on needs, feasibility and resource requirements of **digital communications projects and products.

**Digital communication products include motion, static graphics and podcasts

*Recent experience and proficiency in the use of at least three (3) of Adobe’s Creative Cloud software including Premiere, After Effects, InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and Lightroom

Recent* experience in creating at least three (3) of the following digital communications products and services:
• Videos (multiple formats including but not limited to: impact stories, motion graphics, explainers, streeters, interviews, event coverage, 2D or 3D animation, promotional, greetings/messages, personal profiles, storyboarding)
• Audio production and post-production (voice overs, podcasts)
• Photography (portraits, event, stock)
• Graphic designs (multiple formats including but not limited to: visual identity, logos, social media, infographics, animated gifs, publication layout)
• Script writing, editing, story-telling
• Videography including proficiency in the use of DSLR, Sony FS7 or equivalent, and ENG cameras
• Lighting for studio and ENG/EFP

*Recent experience defined as experience gained in the last five (5) years.

Abilities and skills:
Ability to produce a variety of accessible, complex and creative visual digital communication products including eye catching visuals, clear and logical call to action and clear purpose of the intended message.
Ability to research, and analyze the current digital environment including latest trends and industry standards, and to factor them into daily work activities and projects.
Ability to effectively communicate in writing.
Ability to effectively communicate orally.
