The intent of this appointment process is to staff one position on an indeterminate basis.

A pool of qualified candidates may be established to staff similar positions with various tenures (indeterminate, specified period, acting, casual, secondment or assignment).

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

A minimum of DP2/QL5 Mat Tech qualified, or any accredited certification in upholstery and/or an acceptable combination of education, training and experience.

Degree equivalency

Experience in textile fabric repair and manufacturing.

Experience in the proper use, operation and maintenance of medium to heavy duty industrial sewing machines and equipment associated with the textile upholstery trade.

Experience carrying out procedures necessary in the upholstering and the manufacturing of canvas products, seat/cushion repair and equipment bags.

Experience interpreting written instructions, drawings or technical specifications as they apply to the textile upholstery trade.

Experience in repair of canvas tentage.

If you possess any of the following, your application must also clearly explain how you meet it (other qualifications)

Basic First Aid

Experience repairing military equipment such as tents, tarps and camp cots.

Experience using ultrasonic cleaning techniques.

Experience in repairing, inspecting and seal testing C4 Gas Masks.
