Here is an overview of some tasks for each discipline.
Analyst, integration and software packages:
• Analyze, define and document the needs of customers and offer software that best meet the needs. Conduct impact analysis studies.
• Install, configure, integrate and maintain software on various technology platforms. Ensure that the software configuration conforms to the identified specifications. Participate in quality assurance activities.
• Write technical documents such as installation procedures, maintenance guides and threat and risk assessments.
• Diagnose and analyze complex issues to ensure second and third level technical support.
Analyst, IT Support Services:
• Collaborate with clients and stakeholders to discover, analyze, define, model and document IT needs and to ensure that needs are documented in accordance with standards.
• Conduct research with potential stakeholders to identify relevant new and existing IT solutions.
• Participate in project teams and, on occasion, provide short-term management of teams or components of a major project. Prepare work plans and explain and provide technical information to new staff as needed
Support Analyst, User Support:
• Evaluate, troubleshoot, document and manage the use and replacement of LAN, WAN, server, workstation and peripheral equipment, software network and related operating systems, and escalate issues to the higher support level as needed.
• Advise on various technical topics such as systems, standards, protocols and network operating utilities to clients and colleagues.
• Participate in discussions with colleagues, clients, technical advisors and managers to explain technical issues or solve technical problems.
Analyst, IT security:
• Investigate security incidents, oversee proactive measures and implement corrective actions; perform technical research, participate in forensic analysis; Provide coaching and assistance to clients by following approved IT security standards and procedures, as well as developing and implementing solutions; provide technical advice, analysis, and assistance to project managers and clients on IT security issues and as a policy specialist on policy issues , departmental and Government of Canada IT security guidelines and best practices.
• Review the sensitivity statement documents and provide guidance to clients regarding changes that need to be made to address deficiencies related to safety standards. Participate in the conduct of threat and risk assessments for IT systems and voice and data transmission systems.
• Develop, maintain and provide documentation of guidelines and safety standards, as well as user manuals, information and written or verbal responses to customer inquiries, as well as offer them training on topics related to IT security.

EDUCATION:
• Successful completion of two years of acceptable post-secondary education in computer science, information technology or other field related to the position being staffed
OR
A combination of the successful completion of a program of at least one year of acceptable post-secondary education in computer science, information technology or other field related to the position to be staffed, in addition to 5 years of experience in a field related to the position to be staffed

EXPERIENCES:
• Significant* and recent** experience in administration or technical support of workstations (Win7 +) and/or servers (Win2008 and +) in a Microsoft Windows network environment.
• Significant * and recent ** experience working in computer problem solving in an Information Technology environment.
*Significant experience means the depth and breadth of experience associated with having performed a broad range of related activities for a period of approximately two (2) years.
** Recent experience is defined as experience that has been obtained within approximately the last five (5) years.

• Knowledge of computers, their software and peripherals, Local Area Networks (LAN) and Wide Area Networks (WAN), IT telecommunications, IT security concepts and principles and the system architectures in client-server and web environments;
• Knowledge of Windows Operating System 7 and more recent;
• Knowledge of Windows Server 2008 and more recent;
• Knowledge of cybersecurity;
• Knowledge of Linux Operating System.
