Salary, Allowances, and Benefits:
In addition to salary, you are entitled to an isolated posts allowance. This can range from $18,000 to $33,000 per year, depending on the number of dependants, geographic location and whether the accommodation is provided by the Crown. You are also entitled to vacation travel allowance of approximately $2,000 to $3,000 twice a year for you and each eligible dependant.
As a federal government employee, you will also receive a comprehensive benefit package including an employee pension plan and health, dental and group insurance.
• Facilitate the development the Inuit Employment Plan for CIRNAC Nunavut Regional Office;
• Facilitate and provide support for management in the CIRNAC Nunavut Regional Office to implement the Inuit Employment Plan;
• Provide counselling to Inuit employees on career and training plans;
• On behalf of CIRNAC Nunavut Regional Office, co-ordinates, supports and assists the activities of working groups for Inuit employment that include Inuit organizations, all federal departments, and the Government of Nunavut and other partners;
• Participate in community outreach activities, such as career fairs, in an effort to recruit Inuit into the public service.

The Nunavut Regional Office (NRO) of Crown-Indigenous Relations and Northern Affairs Canada (CIRNAC) supports the positive and productive relationship shared between the Government of Canada, the Government of Nunavut,and Nunavut Tunngavik Incorporated, and works with a number of territorial stakeholders, such as Regional Inuit Associations, Institutions of Public Government, to implement the Nunavut Agreement. NRO staff work with Nunavummiut to manage land and water and mineral resources, remediate contaminated sites, and provide a variety of programs.
The NRO team has diverse types of positions and is committed to the overall objective of reaching a representative workforce as prescribed under Article 23 of the Nunavut Agreement by finding suitable and innovative ways to recruit, retain, train, develop and advance Nunavut Inuit employees in their careers.

We would like to hire a candidate for an (1) indeterminate position located in Iqaluit.
According to the operational needs and the employment status of the qualified candidates, different tenures may be considered for the position being staffed (permanent or temporary full-time, specified period, deployment, acting, secondment, assignment, Interchange Canada).
A pool of qualified candidates may be established to fill similar or identical positions in the future at Crown-Indigenous Relations and Northern Affairs Canada (CIRNAC) or other federal departments and agencies located in Nunavut. Please note that the tenure or security requirements may vary.

Here is what you must have to be selected:
• A secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
• Experience in participating and coordinating meetings that include internal or external partners (or stakeholders).
• Experience in providing advice and information to the public or clients.
The following criteria will be assessed using your resume and online screening questions. However, they are only assets, so you do not need to meet them to be selected, but preference could be given to those who have them.
Here are the assets we are looking for:
• Post-secondary education (certificate, diploma, or degree) in a program relevant to the position being staffed.
• Experience in providing Human Resources advice and recommendations.
• Experience working in a Northern environment.
• Experience in providing advice and recommendations to management (Manager level and/or above).
• Experience developing policies, strategies, or action plans.
• Experience in supervising staff.

• Knowledge of Article 23 of the Nunavut Agreement.
• Knowledge of Inuit culture and values.
• Knowledge of Human Resource management practices - specifically related to staffing and recruitment.
• Ability to lead meetings or discussions to achieve outcomes.
• Ability to supervise, mentor, or coach.
• Ability to communicate effectively orally.
• Ability to communicate effectively in writing.
• Ability to research, analyze and assimilate a variety of information.
In addition to having the knowledge and abilities mentioned above, you are a person who:
• Demonstrates integrity and respect
• Works effectively with others
• Shows initiative and being action-oriented
• Demonstrates good judgement

The successful candidate will be required to obtain a Reliability Security Clearance prior to taking up the position. A Medical Clearance might be also required.
