Intent of the process

There is an immediate need to staff three (3) indeterminate positions in Edmonton, Alberta. A pool of qualified candidates may be established and may be used to staff similar positions in the province of Alberta within the Department of National Defence and other government departments.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

OC1- Possession a valid Alberta or Interprovincial Journeyman’s Certification in Carpentry OR any other equivalency recognized by the provincial or territorial authority, such as a Qualification level QL5 – Construction Technician

EX1- Experience installing, repairing and maintaining a variety of structural systems

EX2- Experience working in one or more of the following:
• Cabinet Making
• Furniture Making
• Painting

Conditions of employment

Security: Reliability

Possession of a driver’s license valid in the province of work.
Willing and able to obtain and maintain a DND 404 operators permit
Willing and able to lift up to 20 kg; bend and climb stairs
Willing and able to work overtime as pre-authorized
Willing and able to work with computer software
Willing and able to utilize personal protective equipment (PPE) in compliance with safety regulations and/or policies.
Willing and able to work at heights.
Willing and able to work in in adverse conditions including exposure to noxious fumes, and extreme temperatures.
