The Canadian Grain Commission (CGC) is a federal department responsible to ensure the integrity and marketability of grain for the domestic and international grain trade, from producer to global customer.

The CGC is a significant part of Canada’s dynamic and diverse agricultural sector. We regulate grain handling in Canada, set grain standards and conduct research on grain. Intent of the process

This process will be used to staff 1 full-time indeterminate position.

A pool may be created to staff similar positions with various linguistic profiles and tenure (indeterminate, specified term, acting, deployment, secondment).

Education:
● Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in accounting and auditing, business administration, commerce, finance or some other specialty relevant to the position.

Degree equivalency

Experience:
● Experience in the planning, execution and reporting of audits and/or other similar projects.
● Experience in reviewing and analyzing financial information.
● Experience in using word processing and spreadsheet software such as Microsoft Word and Excel.

●Knowledge of the Canada Grain Act and Regulations and Orders.
●Knowledge of the theory and application of audit techniques and evaluation of internal controls.
●Knowledge of the Canadian Grain Commission and its services.

Reliability Status security clearance

● Must have a valid driver’s license or personal mobility in the time and manner normally associated with possession and use of a driver’s license.

In order to manage the number of applications in the selection process, management may use top-down consideration of scores at various steps in the process, to determine the number of candidates who will be further considered in the process.

Communication for this process will be sent via email. All communication relating to this process, including email correspondence, may be used in the assessment of qualifications.

Candidates from outside the federal public service may be required to pay for their own travel.

Preference

Preference will be given to veterans and to Canadian citizens, in that order, with the exception of a job located in Nunavut, where Nunavut Inuit will be appointed first.
