Assessment accommodation

Work environment

Woman and Gender Equality Canada is a Federal Department, with a wide variety of work that can be performed regardless of geographic location. However, certain positions may require a physical presence at a specific location.

Work locations includes but not limited to : Edmonton (Alberta), Vancouver (British Columbia), Winnipeg (Manitoba), Moncton (New Brunswick), St. John's (Newfoundland and Labrador), Toronto (Ontario), National Capital Region, Montréal (Québec), Regina (Saskatchewan).

Telework could also be an option depending on the positions to be filled.

The Department for Women and Gender Equality works to uphold its mandate to advance gender equality by performing a central coordination function within the Government of Canada by developing and implementing policies, providing grants and contributions, delivering programs, investing in research, and providing advice to achieve equality for people of all genders, including women.

ASSESSMENT
- If you do not fully complete the screening questions as instructed, you will be screened out.
- The ability to communicate in writing will be assessed in two steps. The first step will be by the application and the screening questions. The second step will be through an written exam. You must succeed the first assessment in order to move to the second assessment.
- Judgment will be assessed throughout the process by the candidate's communications related to the processes as well as the various assessment tools.
- Written test(s) will be administered.
- Interviews will be conducted.
- Reference checks will be sought.
- Assessment will be conducted at locations of the employer's choice and may require candidates to travel to the test/interview location.
- Travel fees will not be reimburse.

SELECTION
- Random selection and/or top-down selection may be used at any time during the process to identify which applicants will be further assessed.
- Management may choose one or more Asset Qualifications at the screening stage.
- Preference may be given to candidates with depth and breath experiences.
- A candidate may be appointed to the position even though he/she does not meet any or all of the asset qualifications, organizational requirements, or operational needs. However, meeting these criteria is desirable and may be used as a deciding factor in choosing the person to be appointed.

Preference

Preference will be given to veterans and to Canadian citizens, in that order, with the exception of a job located in Nunavut, where Nunavut Inuit will be appointed first.
