STUDIES:
A high school diploma or alternatives approved by the employer.
EXPERIENCE:
- EXP1: Extensive ** experience conducting investigations in at least one of the following areas:
• Criminal
• Administration
• Finance
• Security
• Internal disclosure
- EXP2: Experience conducting complex interviews ***, researching issues and writing reports that support investigation findings.
- EXP3: Extensive ** experience in presenting oral and written investifations findings.
- EXP4: Extensive ** experience to consult, correspond and work in collaboration with internal and external partners, security stakeholders or lead agencies on security issues, investigations, policies or departmental security initiatives.
** Extensive experience translates into the diversity, complexity and scope of an experience normally gained by performing these duties over a period of approximately 5 years.
*** Complex is defined as situations in which the outcome or solutions are not readily evident or matter contention.
KNOWLEDGE:
- Knowledge of the Treasury Board Secretariat’s Policy on Government Security.
- Knowledge of the Treasury Board Secretariat Standard on Security Screening.

ASSETS:
- Degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in Criminology, Law, Social Sciences, Industrial Relations, Psychology, Public or Business Administration or other field relevant to the position to be staffed.
- Valid Professional Certification: Certified Fraud Examiners (CFE) or equivalent.
- Valid Professional Certification: Certified Forensic Investigator (CFI) or equivalent.
- Extensive* experience in participating in departmental, interdepartmental or working groups on issues related to the conduct of administrative investigations.
- Extensive* experience in developing and delivering awareness and training material in administrative investigations and wrongdoing.
- Extensive* experience in coordinating incident investigations with federal, provincial or municipal law enforcement agencies.
- Experience delivering testimony in criminal and civil court proceedings.
- Experience advising and guiding senior management** on policies and processes related to administrative investigations.
* Extensive experience translates into the diversity, complexity and scope of an experience normally gained by performing these duties over a period of approximately 5 years.
** Senior management is defined as the position of director or equivalent and above.
Reliability Status security clearance
- Willing and able to do overtime often and with short notice.
- Willing and able to travel frequently.
