Duties

Plans, organizes, directs and controls projects and/or activities related to real estate property management, including the acquisition or renovation, operation and disposal of real property.

Intent of the process

The intent of the process is to fill one AS-02 position on an indeterminate basis in London Ontario. A pool of candidates may be established and used for future staffing.

Should a Civilian Member (CM) be found qualified and selected for appointment, the appointment will not result in a change of status to the Public Service (PS) category for the CM.

EDUCATION
A post-secondary school diploma in one or more of the following areas: Property Management, Facility Management, Financial Management, Urban Planning, Design and Construction; Environmental Management, Public Administration or Business Administration.

Real Property Administrator (RPA) designation.
Facilities Management Administrator (FMA) designation.

Degree equivalency

Experience using Microsoft Visio
Experience using Microsoft Project
Experience in one or more of the following areas: urban planning, environmental management, public administration, business administration.
Experience providing advice to management.
Experience in working with SAP software.

Conditions of employment

RCMP Secret Security Clearance.
Possession of a valid Canadian Driver’s Licence.
Willingness and ability to travel.
Willingness and ability to work overtime on short notice.

The hours of work for this position are 37.5 hours per week, 7.5 hours per day (Monday to Friday). Due to the nature of the duties, requests for variable hours of work (ie. compressed) cannot be approved.

Random selection, top down selection, and/or asset criteria may be used at any step of the process in the determination of those to be given further consideration in the assessment process.

Successful candidates will require a valid RCMP security clearance prior to appointment and throughout the tenure of their employment. The process to obtain an RCMP security clearance may involve but is not limited to a security/reliability interview and a field investigation which includes matters of criminal activity, verification of credit/financial status, reference checks, education, employment, etc. As such, the process may take several weeks or months to complete.

Preference will be given to veterans and to Canadian citizens, in that order, with the exception of a job located in Nunavut, where Nunavut Inuit will be appointed first.
