PSPC helps the Government of Canada serve Canadians. With a strong focus on quality customer service, we provide innovative common services such as real estate and building management, purchasing, banking, pay and pensions, and translation to other government departments, agencies and boards. By providing these centralized services to departments and agencies, we enable them to focus on what they do best: providing their programs and services to Canadians.
A pool of qualified candidates will be created and may be used to staff similar positions with various tenures (such as permanent, specified period or casual) based in Vancouver within the Department of Public Services and Procurement Canada. Should the selected candidate already be a public servant, the pool could also be used for acting appointments.

Information on language requirements
Education:
A secondary school diploma
A valid 60 tonne Restricted Certificate of Competency, for the Fraser River and Vancouver Harbour.
Experience:
Experience in the theories, techniques and methods of navigation and ship handling and skill are required to safely navigate a vessel in various bodies of water (open water, fast currents, shallow and/or narrow waterways) around fixed structures and confined spaces. Skill is also required when mooring a vessel.

Knowledge of Basic Hydrographic Surveying
Knowledge of Diesel and Gas Engines
