SCREENING QUESTIONS
It is not sufficient to only state that the qualification is met or to provide a listing of current or past responsibilities. You must provide concrete examples to demonstrate that the qualification is met. You are encouraged to describe in detail when, where and how you gained the experience. The successful candidate will join Transport Canada’s Environmental Programs team as an Environmental Advisor. A high level of initiative and strategic thinking are required as you lead environmental projects within our project management regime. The key duties of the position involve reviewing and analysing project proposals, environmental assessments and technical documents submitted under the various regulatory frameworks in the region. You will collaborate with Transport Canada’s technical experts and other federal and provincial/territorial bodies as well as supporting environmental protection and awareness initiatives. Daily activities involve reviewing submissions, planning and leading meetings (internal and external), consolidating input from other branches, writing briefing notes and preparing written submissions and presentations.
The intent of this process is to staff one position in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
A pool of qualified candidates may be established to staff similar positions with various tenures (indeterminate, term, deployment, assignment, secondment or acting opportunities) or locations within Transport Canada (TC).

ED: Graduation from a recognized university with acceptable specialization in environmental sciences, environmental studies, ecology, biology, chemistry, geology, environmental engineering or other science directly related to the position.
EX1: Experience in planning, implementing, or managing projects relating to environmental assessment OR environmental protection OR contaminated sites management.
EX2: Experience in analyzing technical reports relating to environmental assessment OR environmental protection OR contaminated sites management.
EX3: Experience in providing technical advice on matters relating to environmental assessment OR environmental protection OR contaminated sites management.
EX4: Experience in interpreting environmental legislation.
AEX1: Experience in consulting with federal and provincial government representatives and industry on environmental issues.

Possible reasons for alternate assessment dates:

· Professional obligation (proof required);
· Confirmation of pre-approved travel plans; or
· Religious reasons.
