Duties

The successful candidate will join a diverse research team to work on the Soil Erosion Indicators under the Sustainability Metrics program. The soil erosion indicators are a set of models for water, wind and tillage erosion risk estimations at the national level for the whole country of Canada. The models need many input data and parameters. Raw data need to be processed for quality assurance and control before it can be used. The successful candidate will receive training by the scientist on the structure of the model, the nature of the raw data and how to process them. Detailed instructions will be provided for any assigned tasks, which include assisting with data compilation, quality control, analysis for use in the soil erosion indicator models.

Currently enrolled or willing to enroll in a Master’s or PhD program in a recognized post-secondary academic institution with specialization in: agri-environmental sciences or a close related field.

Degree equivalency

Experience in agri-environmental related lab and field work.
Experience in scientific data analysis and modeling.
