Please note that this is a streamed selection process for the three positions identified below:

CS-02 - Analyst, Business Line Support (BLS) (Stream 1)
CS-02 - Database Analyst, Database & Data Administration (Stream 2)
CS-02 - Programmer/Analyst, Application & Development (Stream 3)

Candidates must answer all questions identified as being applicable to ALL Streams. In addition, candidates must also answer the questions applicable to the specific Stream(s) that they are applying for.

Written communication will be assessed throughout your application and via a written test.

It is the responsibility of the candidate to clearly outline that they meet each of the screening criteria (i.e. Education and Experience Qualifications, both Essential and Assets) by responding to the screening questions in the online application. Resumes MAY be used as a secondary source to validate the experience described in the screening questions.

Intent of the process

A pool may be established as a result of this process and may be used to fill similar positions with various tenures, language requirements and security profiles at the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario (FedDev Ontario).

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

Education:

Successful completion of two (2) years of an acceptable post-secondary educational program in computer science, information technology, information management or another specialty relevant to the position to be staffed.

Notes:
1.Indeterminate period incumbents of positions in the CS group on May 10, 1999, who do not possess the education prescribed above, are deemed to meet the minimum education standards based on their education, training and/or experience. They must be accepted as having met the minimum education standard whenever this standard is called for when staffing positions in the CS group.
2.It is the recognized educational institution (e.g. community college, CÉGEP or university) that determines if the courses taken by a candidate correspond to two years of a post-secondary program at the institution.
3.At the manager's discretion, an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience may serve as an alternative to the minimum post-secondary education stated above. Whenever the minimum education is met using this alternative, it is met for the specific position only and must be re-assessed for other positions for which this alternative has been specified by the manager.

Degree equivalency

EX1: IT Project Management – STREAM 1 only
EX2: Database Design & Management – STREAM 2 only
EX3: Application Development/Support and Maintenance – STREAM 3 only
EX4: Business Analysis – ALL STREAMS

Reliability Status security clearance - This factor is not used at the pre-selection stage. The hiring department is responsible for the security clearance process.
