How does this process work? Please read below to find out!
Step 1- Your application and resume (no cover letter required) is randomly selected from the inventory. Decisions on further assessment may be based on depth and breadth of experience. For all experience factors, ensure you answer the screening questions with sufficient details to allow hiring managers to fully understand the scope of your experience.
Step 2- If you are screened in and contacted for further assessment, the second phase consists of an interview to assess your Abilities and Competencies, including Oral Communication skills.
Step 3- If you are successful in the interview, references may be contacted as the final phase of assessment. All candidates that are contacted to move beyond the screening phase will be advised of their outcome in the process.
Step 4- If you are the selected candidate, you will be contacted to complete the Security screening.
Appointments are made on an on-going basis as requirements arise. Qualified candidates are placed in a pool for possible appointment at a future date.
The role of the Cook Helper (GS FOS 03) is to provide assistance to cooks in the preparation of meals for the Department of National Defence (DND). Duties include: short order cooking, preparing packaged food products, salad, and buffet items.
The position also assists with preparation of bakery products, cooking of a variety of food items according to specific instructions and established recipes, cleanup of work surfaces, and receipt and store of supplies.
A pool of qualified candidates may be established and may be used to staff similar positions on a permanent, temporary, or casual basis with various security requirements and language profiles. Not all applications will be processed at the same time; assessments will be completed on an as needed basis.
