When answering the screening questions, remember that the assessment board cannot make assumptions about your Education and Experience. It is not sufficient to say that you have the required qualifications or to list your current or past responsibilities. Rather, you must provide concrete examples with significant details to explain WHEN, WHERE and HOW you acquired each qualification. This is similar to what would be expected of you when asked to provide a concrete example of a particular situation in the context of an interview.
 
Candidates must also submit a resume with their application, which will only be used to validate the information provided in their answers to the screening questions.

Duties

The Officer, Publications and Intranet Management is responsible for the promulgation of information by different means, such as websites, email and/or paper, the management of the Operations Intranet Site and the management of the cyclical review schedule for distribution of documents according to established timetables and procedures.

Intent of the process

The immediate need is to staff two positions. A pool of partially may be established from this selection process and may be used to staff similar positions with various tenures, various linguistic profiles as well as various security clearances within Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO).

EDUCATION:
A secondary diploma or an acceptable combination of education, training and experience related to the position.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE:
EXP1: Experience* within the last five (5) years in Web page development and design using HTML coding.
EXP2: In depth** experience* formating publications using Microsoft Office Suite applications such as Word, PowerPoint and Outlook within the last five (5) years.
EXP3: Experience* within the last five (5) years maintaining electronic and hard copy filing systems using computerized software for tracking and recording documents.
EXP4: Experience* working in an operational team offering front line client service.

* Experience is defined as being acquired as part of your core duties and on an ongoing basis for a period of approximately one (1) year.

** In depth is defined as having performed the following duties with:

Please note that achieving the pass mark on any of the assessments used does not mean you will move forward in the selection process. Management may decide to use a score that is higher than the pass mark on any of the evaluations used throughout the selection process. Management may also decide to use top-down selection at any stage of the process.
