This staffing process may be used to staff future vacancies in Borden, Petawawa, Downsview, Kingston and/or Trenton, Ontario.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

Experience:
EX1 - A minimum of one (1) year experience with the maintenance and operation of high pressure boilers and related equipment in a Central Heating (steam plant) environment
EX2 - Experience with the control for steam, water and condensate systems.
EX3 - Experience with safety practices and procedures related to working within a heating plant.

Occupational Certification (Based on the position being staffed):
OC1- Possession of a valid Second, Third or Fourth Class Operating Engineer Standardized Certificate issued by the Province of Ontario or possession of a valid Second, Third or Fourth Class Operating Engineer Certificate issued by another province/territory.

Note: Candidates who do not currently possess a valid Second, Third of Fourth Class Operating Engineer Standardized Certificate issued by the Province of Ontario will be required to obtain this certificate prior to appointment. Abilities:

Occupational Certification:
AQ1 - Possession of a valid First Class Operating Engineer Standardized Certificate issued by the Province of Ontario or possession of a valid first Class Operating Engineer Certificate issued by another province/territory.
AQ2 - Possession of certification in First Aid
AQ3 - Possession of certification in CPR
AQ4 - Possession of certification in WHMIS
AQ5 - Possession of certification in Aerial Lift Equipment

Experience:
AQ6 - Experience working with ammonia refrigeration systems.

Conditions of employment

Reliability Status security clearance

• Possession of a valid unrestricted class “G” driver’s license issued by the Province of Ontario or provincial/territorial equivalent
• Eligibility and willingness to obtain the DND 404 military driver’s license
• A current and acceptable driver’s abstract
• Must be willing to work Shift Work (12 hours)
• Must be willing to work overtime
• Must be willing to work in confined spaces, climb stairs; work from ladders, scaffolding and elevated platforms.
• Must maintain valid Second, Third or Fourth Class Operating Engineer Standardized Certificate (depending on the position being staffed)

HP 04: $33.49 - $35.19 per hour
HP 05: $36.10 - $37.88 per hour
