Intent of the process

The intent of this process is to staff 6 positions on an indeterminate (permanent) basis. Four (4) of these positions have an English or French linguistic profile and two (2) of them have a Bilingual Imperative BBB/BBB linguistic requirements.

A pool of partially qualified candidates may be established and may be used to staff similar positions within Elections Canada with various tenures (permanent or term).

Indeterminate employees at the same group and level, or equivalent may be considered for deployment.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

EDUCATION
Successful completion of two years of an acceptable post-secondary educational program in computer science, information technology, information management, project management or another specialty relevant to the position to be staffed.
OR
At the manager’s discretion, an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience may serve as an alternative to the minimum post-secondary education stated above. Whenever the minimum education is met via this alternative, it is met for the specific position only and must be reassessed for other positions for which this alternative has been specified by the manager.

Note: Indeterminate period incumbents of positions in the CS group on May 10, 1999, who do not possess the education prescribed above, are deemed to meet the minimum education standards based on their education, training and/or experience. They must be accepted as having met the minimum education standard whenever this standard is called for when staffing positions in the CS group.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCES
Recent* and significant** experience developing software solutions.
Recent* and significant** experience in analysing requirements and recommending IT solutions.
Recent* and significant** experience using software development best practices and software design methodologies.

NOTE: *Recent is defined as an experience having been acquired within the last five (5) years.
**Significant is defined as the depth and breadth of experience normally associated with full-time performance of duties for a period of approximately two (2) years

ASSET/EDUCATION
Post-secondary diploma in the field of IM/IT

Degree equivalency

ASSET/ EXPERIENCES
Experience working in IT projects using Agile Scrum.
Experience in developing a technical design of an initiative including the analysis of stakeholder needs to document requirements.
Experience in maintaining or developing geospatial databases, or geospatial applications, or geospatial services.
Experience in planning, developing and managing IT projects using a formal project management methodology.
Experience in maintaining or developing application databases, or extract, transform and load / replication between multiple databases.
Experience in selecting, installing or configuring Commercial off the Shelf (COTS) software.
Experience in maintaining or developing Microsoft Dynamics CRM solutions.

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
1) Willingness and ability to work overtime when needed and on short notice.
2) Willingness and ability to travel across Canada and/or abroad on an as-needed basis.
