We are committed to providing an inclusive and barrier-free work environment, starting with the hiring process. If you need to be accommodated during any phase of the evaluation process, please use the Contact information below to request specialized accommodation. All information received in relation to accommodation will be kept confidential.
When you apply to this selection process, you are not applying for a specific job, but to an inventory for future vacancies. As positions become available, applicants who meet the qualifications may be contacted for further assessment.
Military families, including over 61,500 military spouses and common-law partners, face the challenge of acquiring or continuing meaningful employment. The Department of National Defence (DND)’s Military Spouse Employment Initiative (MSEI) – Casual Inventory aims to provide military spouses and common-law partners opportunities to gain work experience, develop and maintain skills, as well as pursue their careers. Join the new MSEI inventory today to find employment opportunities within DND or other Federal Government of Canada departments!
*A Military Spouse is defined as:
• A spouse or common-law partner who is normally residing with a Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) serving member at the member’s place of duty or who, if living separately, is doing so for military reasons; and
• The serving CAF member is a member of the Regular Force or the Reserve Force on Class C service or Class B reserve service of more than 180 consecutive days.
Applicants will be required to provide the CAF member's service number.
Positions to be filled: Number to be determined.
The intent of this inventory is to fill temporary employment needs of 90 working days or fewer, per department, in a calendar year. As positions become available, applicants who meet the qualifications may be contacted for further assessment.
Applicant searches may be conducted by random selection, relevant experience, work location, or linguistic requirement of the work to be performed. The applications that meet the hiring organization's requirements will be provided to the hiring manager who, in turn, may contact the applicants to discuss the opportunity.
Casual employment offers you opportunities to:
• experience working for Government of Canada departments;
• build your reputation as a high performer;
• make professional connections with colleagues and leaders;
• access professional networks that can help build your career; and
• gain awareness to longer-term and permanent employment opportunities (e.g. term, indeterminate).
