The Public Prosecution Service of Canada (PPSC) is looking for a Senior Business Data Analyst at the AS-05 level to join our guild of Data Wizards.

In our team, you would be:

• extracting and manipulating data using SQL Server
• producing data tables and graphs with MS Excel
• liaising with senior management and providing advice
• constantly learning (seriously, it never stops)

As a smaller organization with a powerful mandate, PPSC is great for “getting your name out there”. We’re also conveniently located in downtown Ottawa and within walking distance of almost everything.

Intent of the process

The immediate need is to staff one (1) position for a specified period of one (1) year.

A pool of partially or fully qualified candidates will be created and may be used to staff similar positions at the AS-05 group and level with various tenures and various linguistic profiles within Public Prosecution Service of Canada.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

Education:
- A secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

Degree equivalency

Experience:
- Recent* experience conducting research and data analysis.
- Recent* experience in developing or maintaining a database using Structured Query Language (SQL).
- Recent* experience in data manipulation activities including extracting data from a database, transforming data and producing data tables or graphs in Excel.

*Recent experience is defined as having performed the activities within the last five (5) years.

If you possess any of the following, your application must also clearly explain how you meet it (other qualifications)

Asset Qualification - Education:
- Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in economics, sociology, statistics, or computer science.

Degree equivalency

Asset Qualifications - Experience:
- Experience scripting using Structured Query Language (SQL).
- Experience using SQL Server.
