The Canadian Grain Commission (CGC) is a federal department responsible to ensure the integrity and marketability of grain for the domestic and international grain trade, from producer to global customer.
The CGC is a significant part of Canada’s dynamic and diverse agricultural sector. We regulate grain handling in Canada, set grain standards and conduct research on grain. Education:
Professional Designation: Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) and Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA).
Experience:
- Experience planning and conducting operational, process, compliance, and/or financial audits.
- Experience leading internal audit staff on a project basis
- Experience preparing findings and recommendations resulting from audit engagements.
- Experience in providing advice and/or recommendations to management.
- Experience in managing human resources, setting objectives, managing performance, assigning work and providing feedback.

Knowledge:

Experience:
- Significant experience in internal audit or similar activity (at least five years experience).
- Experience using TeamMate audit software
- Experience with the Government of Canada.
- Experience in or knowledge of the Canadian grain industry.
- Experience supervising internal audit teams.
- Experience using auditing software (such as ACL/IDEA) including automated data analysis, databases, and spreadsheets.
Knowledge:
- Knowledge of the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat's Canada's Policy on Internal Audit (2017).
- Knowledge of risk management processes such as Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) or Internal Risk Management (IRM).
Other Merit Criteria:
- Active member of ISACA.
Secret security clearance
- Ability and willingness to travel occasionally.
- Ability and willingness to work overtime on occasion.
- Observe the Code of Ethics as defined in the International Professional Practices Framework for The Institute of Internal Auditors.

Depending on the number of applicants and CGC's needs, volume management strategies such as random selection, top-down approach and/or establishing cut-off scores to determine who will continue in the staffing process, may be used for the purpose of managing applications. Please note that although you may attain the established pass mark on any of the assessments used in this staffing process, management may decide to use a higher cut off score.

If invited, candidates will be required to attend, AT THEIR OWN EXPENSE, a technical / behavioural competency assessment to qualify for entrance into the development program (excluding employees of the Federal Public Service).
Candidates invited to an interview will be required to bring proof of their education credentials, in the form of a diploma or official transcript (original documents only).
Preference will be given to veterans and to Canadian citizens, in that order, with the exception of a job located in Nunavut, where Nunavut Inuit will be appointed first.
