Creation of a pool that will be used by multiple organizations of the federal government to staff positions with various tenures, linguistic profiles and requirements throughout the country, but mainly in the National Capital Region.

As part of the application process you will be asked to respond to screening questions about the requirements listed below. Please note that in order to pass the pre-selection stage, it is necessary to answer all the questions for which you meet the requirements:
EDUCATION
Master's degree or doctorate, obtained or will be obtained by December 31, 2020, from a recognized university.
OR
Degree* AND a law degree, both obtained or in the process of being obtained by December 31, 2020, from a recognized university.
*Unless it is otherwise specified (e.g. Master’s degree), the term “degree” refers to a baccalaureate as established by educational authorities.
Note: EC positions require an acceptable specialization in economics, sociology or statistics. The courses for the specialization must be acceptable and may have been taken at a recognized post-secondary institution, but not necessarily within a degree program in the required specialization. The specialization may also be obtained through an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE
Have a record of academic excellence supported by a combination of the following elements:
- High level scholarships, such as: Trudeau, Rhodes, Fulbright, Canada's three federal granting agencies (Canadian Institute of Health Research (CIHR), Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC), Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC)), Excellence scholarship Indspire, June Opie; OR
- Major academic prizes or recognition, such as: Governor General's Gold Medals, merit awards, departmental or university awards, admission to internationally competitive academic programs; OR
- Publications in peer-reviewed journals or publication of a book by a major publishing house.
Note: All scholarships, awards, recognitions or distinctions listed in your application will be verified and you will be required to provide the relevant proof to support your application when requested.
EXPERIENCE:
Have relevant policy experience in the economic, political, legal, social or scientific fields in the following contexts:
- Professional experience; OR
- Conducting research, including community based research, studies, presentations or relevant publications; OR
- Program or policy development or implementation; OR
- Leadership experience with non-governmental organizations, non-profit organizations, government, businesses, consulting firms, think tanks or universities.
AND
Have participated in extra-curricular or volunteer activities in which you have demonstrated leadership or personal initiative to make positive changes in the community through:
- Voluntary service to, or leadership in, a community (e.g. student government, contributions in the voluntary or non-profit organizations); OR
- Personal accomplishment or initiative (e.g. participate in national or international sport competition, leadership role in a NGO, founding a business or other organization); OR
- Recognition through major awards and other forms of public recognition for activities or contributions in the community (e.g. volunteer involvement in the community).
