This process will be used to staff one (1) indeterminate position. A pool of qualified candidates may be established and may be used to staff similar term, or indeterminate
positions in the Fredericton/Oromocto/Gagetown area with various linguistic profiles and different security requirements.

Possess a valid provincial or interprovincial Welder Certificate or Materials Technician Trade Qualifications DP2 (also known as QL5) or higher
Recent experience with general, complex and specialized welding
Recent experience performing modification, reconditioning, inspection and fabrication to parts and components for industrial related equipment on non-ferrous metals (especially aluminum alloys)
*Note: Recent experience refers to the depth and breadth of experience gained in the past four (4) years

The position to be staffed at this time is an English essential position. This process may be used to staff identical or similar positions with various language requirements (Bilingual) and profiles.

Occupational Certification:
DND Occupational Specialty Qualification (OSQ) Certification related to the Material Technician Trade such as Bridging Inspector Course or Advanced Welder
Standard First Aid and/or CPR certificate
Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) and Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) training
Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
Experience using Defense Resource Management Information System (DRMIS)
Experience assessing equipment and machinery deficiencies and making repairs or modifications to the components
Experience assisting and/or instructing junior tradespersons
Experience using Zinc Arc spraying systems

Reliability Status security clearance - reliability status and must be able to obtain a secret security clearance.
