Tentative assessment dates are as follows:

• Interviews will tentatively be held the week of December 16-20
Candidates who are successful at the screening stage are expected to be prepared for assessments on short notice, and are expected to make themselves available for assessment dates.
Candidates who are successful at the exam stage will be asked to provide references before the interview stage. References and interviews may be completed concurrently.
It is the candidate’s responsibility to provide references who are reachable AND willing to complete the reference check within a short timeframe (3 business days).
CORE is a recently appointed dispute resolution mechanism, the first of its kind in the world. We are looking for candidates who are passionate about CORE’s mandate to promote the implementation of responsible business conduct, and to receive and review allegations of human rights abuses arising from the operations abroad of Canadian companies in the garment, mining, and oil and gas sectors. The ideal candidate will embrace the opportunities as well as challenges that new start-ups offer, and will look forward to being part of an enthusiastic team creating something innovative.
The current intention of this selection process is to staff 1 position on an indeterminate basis with a language requirement bilingual imperative CBC/CBC. A pool of partially qualified and/or fully qualified candidates will be established to staff similar positions within Global Affairs Canada with various language requirements and/or various tenures, according to the positions being staffed.

EDUCATION
ED1 - Graduation with a degree from a recognized postsecondary institution, with an acceptable specialization in economics, sociology or statistics.
NOTE : Candidates must always have a degree. The courses for the specialization must be acceptable and may have been taken at a recognized post-secondary institution, but not necessarily within a degree program in the required specialization. The specialization may also be obtained through an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
EXPERIENCE
EX1 - Recent** experience in leading the development and drafting of public policy initiatives or processes.
EX2 - Recent** experience managing research projects with staff or contractors.
EX3 - Significant* and recent** experience conducting policy research and analysis.
EX4 - Significant* and recent** experience in providing strategic advice and recommendations on policy issues.
EX5 - Significant* and recent** experience in preparing written briefings, decision documents, periodic reports or annual reports.
*Significant is defined as the depth and the breadth of experience normally acquired over a period of approximately five (5) years.
**Recent experience is defined as experience acquired within the last eight (8) years.
EDUCATION
AED1 - Graduation with a master’s degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with specialization in economics, sociology, statistics, business/commerce, political science, public policy, public administration or any other field relevant to the position.
EXPERIENCE
AEX1 - Experience in establishing and maintaining cooperative networks with a range of partners or stakeholders.
AEX2 - Experience in leading a team in implementing or coordinating strategies or projects.
AEX3 - Experience in providing strategic advice and recommendations to public, private or plural stakeholders on policy issues.
AEX4 - Experience in preparing written briefings, decision documents, periodic reports or annual reports, intended for stakeholders.
AEX5 - Experience in providing strategic advice and recommendations on policy issues of a sensitive nature.
