Education

Stream 1: EN-ENG-04 - Sr. Program/Project Engineer

ED1. • Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in mechanical engineering, civil engineering, electrical engineering, aeronautical engineering, geological engineering, naval architecture or some other engineering specialty relevant to the duties of the position.

or

Stream 2: PC-03 – Physical Science Planning Officer

ED2. • Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution, with acceptable specialization in physics, geology, chemistry or some other science relevant to the position.

Note: The courses for the specialization must be acceptable and must have been taken at a recognized post-secondary institution, but not necessarily within a degree program in the required specialization.

Degree equivalency

Experience (Streams 1 and 2)
• Significant** experience gathering and analyzing scientific or technical information from scientific publications, technical reports or primary data sources.
• Significant** experience in preparing and coordinating comprehensive briefing material or in writing technical documents for senior management or for clients
• Significant** experience in any of the following sectors: thermal energy generation, electricity generation, oil and gas, fuel production, transportation, chemical or product manufacturing, waste management, mining, metals or minerals processing; forestry; or significant** experience in combustion technologies or emissions reductions technologies or emissions testing.
• Significant** experience leading projects, programs or working groups.
• Experience* developing relationships with representatives from government, industry or other stakeholders.

* Experience is defined as the depth and breadth of experience normally associated with full time performance of the duties in a work environment during a period of one (1) year.

• Knowledge of Environment Climate Change Canada plans and priorities in regards to air pollutants and climate change.
