Duties

Main duties:
Stream 1 – The duties of a Senior Programmer/Analyst are as follows:

• Participate in the design, development and implementation, integration and updating of software applications as directed.
• Participate in testing and quality assurance activities.
• Assist in the provision of application support services.
• Participate in analyzing, defining and documenting client requirements.
• Produce programming specifications, write new or modify existing code.
• Write and update documentation on application systems, software, tools, functions or interfaces to facilitate systems development and implementation activities.
• Participate in work teams, project teams and committees, and assist in delivering training.
• Maintain knowledge of trends and developments in application design, development and testing, and programming languages.
• Supervise a junior programmer/analyst.
• Other similar tasks.

Stream 2 – The duties of an Application Support Analyst are as follows:

• Participate in the updating of software applications as directed.
• Participate in testing and quality assurance activities.
• Assist in the provision of application support services.
• Participate in work teams, project teams and committees, and assist in delivering training.
• Work with developers to improve software applications.
• Send various reports to clients.
• Monitor systems to ensure servers and applications are functional.
• Other similar tasks.

Stream 3 – The duties of an IT Support Analyst are as follows:

• Analyze various requests for help, identify possible solutions and document the procedures used for future reference.
• Install, configure, use and manage various software and operating systems in the workplace.
• Troubleshoot and install basic computer peripherals
• Participate in work teams, project teams and committees, and assist in delivering training.
• Conduct research with potential stakeholders to identify appropriate existing or new IT solutions
• Seek and build strategic alliances and collaborative arrangements through partnerships to advance the objectives of the organization.
• Participate in project teams and liaise and collaborate with stakeholders. Occasionally lead short-term teams or components of a large project.
• Other similar tasks.

Matane

Our office in Matane is located in the beautiful Gaspésie area, a five-minute walk from the river. Our offices are in the René-Tremblay Building, which mainly houses the Cheque Redemption Control Directorate (CRCD), as well as offices of Shared Services Canada (SSC) and the Pay Administration Branch (PAB). A redevelopment project is currently underway in the building to better respond to the growing needs of our branches and our facilities will be refitted in the coming years.
You will be part of a team of young, dynamic developers and will work on projects to develop document imaging solutions for CRCD Matane.

Three pools of partially qualified candidates will be created to fill similar positions with varying tenures (temporary and/or permanent) and with different language requirements within Public Services and Procurement Canada (PSPC), Quebec Region.

• *Experience #1-3: Experience in incident, problem or change management related to IT applications.
• *Experience #1-4: Experience in using SQL and .Net (C#) or JAVA.

(STREAM 2 AND STREAM 3)
• *Experience #2-1: Experience working in IT support and/or service delivery in a networked computer environment.
• *Experience #2-2: Experience suggesting, implementing or participating in the ongoing improvement of IT projects.
• *Experience #2-3: Experience troubleshooting technical problems related to workplace technology devices in a private or public environment.

* Experience is defined as two (2) years of experience in the last four (4) years.
