The immediate need is to staff 5 positions on an indeterminate (permanent) basis, with a linguistic profile of Bilingual Imperative CBC/CBC.
A pool of partially qualified candidates may be established and may be used to staff similar positions within Elections Canada with various tenures (permanent or term).
Indeterminate employees at the same group and level, or equivalent may be considered for deployment.

EDUCATION
Successful completion of two years of an acceptable post-secondary educational program in computer science, information technology, information management, project management or another specialty relevant to the position to be staffed.
OR
At the manager’s discretion, an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience may serve as an alternative to the minimum post-secondary education stated above. Whenever the minimum education is met via this alternative, it is met for the specific position only and must be reassessed for other positions for which this alternative has been specified by the manager.
Note: Indeterminate period incumbents of positions in the CS group on May 10, 1999, who do not possess the education prescribed above, are deemed to meet the minimum education standards based on their education, training and/or experience. They must be accepted as having met the minimum education standard whenever this standard is called for when staffing positions in the CS group.
EXPERIENCES:
Recent* and significant** experience managing IM/IT teams, in one or more of the following discipline: application development (including commercial products, open source and the development of cloud-based solutions), infrastructure and operational system support, IT security, enterprise architecture, enterprise data management or quality assurance in achieving organizational objectives.
Experience managing the activities of teams, including delegating work, monitoring progress and managing employee performance over a complete performance cycle from goal setting to performance management assessment.
Recent* and significant** experience preparing cost estimates or resource requirements for projects.
NOTE: *Recent experience is defined as experience that was acquired within the last five years.
**Significant experience is defined as experience that was a core part of the applicant’s employment and that would normally be acquired over a period of two years or more by performing the full range of activities noted.

ASSET/EDUCATION
Post-secondary diploma in the field of IM/IT
Post-graduate degree in the field of IM/IT
ASSET/PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATION
Certification applicable to the position, such as the Microsoft suite, ITIL, PMP, TOGAF or CISSP
(ITIL: Information Technology Infrastructure Library
PMP: Project Management Professional
TOGAF: The Open Group Architecture Framework
CISSP: Certified Information Systems Security Professional)
ASSETS / EXPERIENCES
Recent* experience in procurement and management of contracts for the provision of IM/IT-related goods or services.
Recent* experience in managing financial activities such as budget management, forecasting, costing, providing estimates and expenditure tracking.
NOTE: *Recent experience is defined as experience that was acquired within the last five years.
OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
1) Willingness and ability to work overtime when needed and on short notice.
2) Willingness and ability to travel across Canada and/or abroad on an as-needed basis.
