The Executive Assistant coordinates a wide range of administrative functions and activities, which support the Office of the Commissioner. The role requires considerable independence, well developed interpersonal, discretion and time management skills in order to respond effectively to changing work demands and priorities and to create an environment that respects and protects the confidentiality of materials and information provided to or from the Commissioner.
Located in downtown Ottawa, FCAC is a separate agency subject to the Public Service Employment Act (PSEA). We offer the same pension and benefits plans as the core public administration. The intent of the selection process is to staff one (1) indeterminate position.
This selection process may be used to establish a pool of qualified candidates, which could be used to staff similar or identical positions with various linguistic profiles and requirements, security profiles and various tenures.

Post-secondary Diploma OR secondary school diploma and five (5) years of applicable work experience.
Recent* and significant** experience in coordinating the administrative activities of an executive office such as managing an executive’s agenda, scheduling meetings, making travel arrangements or drafting minutes.
Recent* and significant** experience liaising and coordinating with external and internal stakeholders.
Experience in the quality control of correspondence or briefing notes for senior management.
Experience assisting management in the planning, control and reporting of a budget.
*Recent is defined as experience normally acquired within the last three (3) years.
**Significant experience means the breadth and depth and is defined as a combination of time spent doing the activity, as well as type (range, scope, and complexity) of work handled related to the experience criteria.
Experience using the Shared Travel Services portal.
Experience in the scheduling and organization of teleconferences and videoconferences.
