Should you be eliminated from this selection process, the retest period for re-assessment within the context of this selection process is 180 calendar days from the date of elimination at either the prescreening, the written exam, interview, or reference stage of the process. Enforcement Investigator (AO CAI-02):
• Enforces the Aeronautics Act to ensure compliance with the Air Regulations, Air Navigation Orders and other legally constituted Ministerial Directives.
• Investigates alleged violations to determine whether or not an offence occurred and make recommendations accordingly.
• Participate in multimodal investigations (pending training and level of complexity).
Civil Aviation Safety Inspector Flight Operations (AO CAI-03):
• Plans, coordinates, manages / leads and/or executes the delivery of aviation certification and safety oversight activities (including inspections and other surveillance activities) for individuals, organizations, and Minister’s delegates.
• Exercises Ministerial delegation of authority under the Aeronautics Act and the Canadian Aviation Regulations (CAR’s), and conducts the oversight of Ministerial delegation to personnel within the organizations.
• On behalf of Transport Canada, as a subject matter expert in flight operations, airspace and aerodromes, communicates directly with all aviation personnel including individuals and senior managers of enterprises and organizations on all aspects of the Civil Aviation safety oversight program; and responds to queries from internal and external stakeholders and the general public on Civil Aviation legislation, certification, oversight and service activities pertaining to flight operations, airspace and aerodromes.

OCCUPATIONAL CERTIFICATION:

• Possession of a valid Category 1 Aviation Medical
• Possession of a Canadian Airline Transport Pilot Licence - AEROPLANE CATEGORY with a Group 1 Instrument Rating that meets all applicable currency requirements to be able to exercise the privileges of the licence.

• Possession of a valid Category 1 Aviation Medical
• Possession of a Canadian Commercial or Airline Transport Pilot Licence - HELICOPTER CATEGORY with a Group IV Instrument Rating that meets all applicable currency requirements to be able to exercise the privileges of the licence

EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of 3 years of experience as a pilot with a Canadian Air Operator, Private Operator, Flight Training Unit or in the Canadian Military
MINIMUM FLIGHT TIME:
• Total of 3,000 hours flight time, which includes 1,500 hours as pilot-in-command of which 500 hours is in multi-engine aeroplanes OR
• Total of 3,000 hours flight time, which includes 1,500 hours as pilot-in-command of which 500 hours is in multi-engine helicopters OR
• Total of 3,000 hours flight time, which includes 1,500 hours as pilot-in-command of which 500 hours is in single engine turbine powered aeroplane
ASSET QUALIFICATIONS:
DEPENDING ON THE POSITION BEING STAFFED, ANY OF THE FOLLOWING QUALIFICATIONS MAY ALSO BE DEEMED AS AN ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATION AND ONLY CANDIDATES AND PERSONS WITH A PRIORITY ENTITLEMENT WHO POSSESS THOSE QUALIFICATIONS WILL BE CONSIDERED FOR THAT SPECIFIC VACANCY.
EDUCATION:
• Degree from a recognized post-secondary institution
• Post-secondary education in an aviation or related program to the position

EXPERIENCE:
