First point of contact during working hours to deal with client inquiries;
Provision of basic support services such as: filing, distributing documents and taking inventory;
Conducting routine searches and retrieving information;
Perform data entry into automated and manual systems, answering calls and greeting visitors; under close supervision
The intent is to create and maintain an inventory of Aboriginal candidates using the Aboriginal Peoples Employment Program, which aims to strategically increase Aboriginal representation with First Nations and Inuit Health Branch. As such, Organizational Needs will be applied and first consideration will be given to candidates self identifying as belonging to Aboriginal peoples.
Casual employment is a temporary employment of 90 working days or less, in a calendar year, to meet needs arising from such contingencies as vacations, sick and training leaves, to conduct special projects that are anticipated but dependent of the availability of funds, etc.
Note: Casual appointments are excluded from the provisions of the Public Service Employment Act (PSEA). This means casual appointments will not be eligible to apply to internal appointment processes. In addition, the PSEA specifies the number of days worked as a casual worker cannot exceed 90 days in a calendar year within the same department.

EDUCATION:
Successful completion of two years of secondary school or employer approved alternatives.
The employer-approved alternatives to two years of secondary school are:
• A satisfactory score on the Public Service Commission test approved as an alternative to two years of secondary school; or
• An acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
EXPERIENCE:
Experience in performing general office duties such as filing, scanning, answering telephones, photocopying or drafting letters.
Experience using computer programs such as MS Word, Outlook or MS Excel.
ASSET QUALIFICATIONS
Experience working with the public in a reception environment.
Experience entering data into computer applications.
Experience in providing administrative services, such as taking minutes.

Reliability Status security clearance
A valid Category 1 medical clearance – Preplacement (including dependents) as per section 4.2 of the Isolated Post and Government Housing Directive for positions in Sioux Lookout (Ontario).
Undertake a Category 1 periodic health evaluation (including dependents) in accordance with Appendix A of the Occupational Health Evaluation Standard Schedule for positions in Sioux Lookout (Ontario).
