Maintains the Regional Director`s (RD`s) agenda; coordinates meetings, and prepares documents for and after meetings. Plans and organizes directorate special events and obtains the necessary approvals. Coordinates and manages workflow of the RD`s office (i.e. Receives, reviews and prioritizes correspondence and sensitive information, etc.) and is the front-line liaison with senior executives such as the Regional Director General (RDG), other RDs, departmental staff and clients.

A pool of qualified candidates will be established and may be used to staff identical or similar positions of various tenures (permanent or temporary) within the Department of Public Services and Procurement Canada in Edmonton.

Education:
A Secondary School diploma or an acceptable combination* of education, training and/or experience.
* An acceptable combination is defined as completion of two years of secondary school and a minimum of three years of experience working in an administrative capacity.
Experience:
E1 – Experience managing the day-to-day operations of a senior management office, including:
a) Providing administrative support services.
b) Receiving, reviewing and prioritizing correspondence and sensitive information.
c) Maintaining a process to track and ensure that tasks delegated to others are completed accurately and within the required time frames.
E2 – Experience monitoring budget expenditures and budget forecasts.
E3 – Experience using Microsoft Office suite in an office environment, including: MS Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Asset Qualifications:
Education:
Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in administration, management or in any other field relevant to the work performed.
Experience:
E1 – Experience resolving issues and providing recommendations.
E2 – Experience using OneNote, SharePoint and/or GCDocs.
