The International Joint Commission (IJC) is a highly respected and trusted independent binational advisor to the governments of Canada and the United States on matters related to the management and protection of hundreds of shared lakes and rivers. The IJC is looking for a highly motivated technical advisor to work closely with the Chief, IM/IT with the monitoring and maintenance of the Commission's IT framework and the management of IT Services.
A pool of qualified candidates may be established and may be used to staff similar positions at the International Joint Commission.

EDUCATION:
Successful completion of two years of an acceptable post-secondary educational program in computer science, information technology, information management or another specialty relevant to the position to be staffed.
EXPERIENCES:
- Experience supporting Microsoft workstation and server operating systems; such as Windows Server 2008-2016, Windows 10 as well as virtual platforms (Hyper-V).
- Experience providing IT architecture advice and guidance on the selection and incorporation of IT solutions.
- Experience in technical writing and the preparation of procedural documentation, including presentations to management; and procedural guidelines.
- Experience working with multi-disciplinary/cross-functional IM/IT teams.
- Experience representing an organization on committees, working groups, associations, or other collaborative initiatives.
ASSET QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION:
- Degree from a recognized university in computer science, information technology, information management.
EXPERIENCES:
- Experience conducting, contributing or coordinating root cause analysis and assessments.
- Experience in providing 1st/2nd/3rd level IT support services for clients related to desktop, server or application configurations.
- Experience managing multiple Configuration Management environments used for image and software deployments.
- Experience with cloud computing and working with IaaS and SaaS stacks.
- Experience in working with and configuring Microsoft Office 365.

KNOWLEDGE:
- Knowledge of various current operating systems including Microsoft Windows servers, UNIX/Linux systems and Windows 10 client systems and of emerging technologies in the industry.
- Knowledge of Microsoft deployment and patch management tools, such as SCCM and WSUS.
- Knowledge of fundamental networking components and concepts such as VLANs, Link Speed/Duplex, VPN technology, Firewalls, DNS, DHCP and TCP/IP.

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Willingness and ability to work overtime on weekend and evenings occasionally, sometimes with short notice.
- Willingness and ability to carry and respond to a mobile device.
- Travel may be required.
