Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with specialization in a field related to the duties of the position or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
Experience
Experience developing test methods at trace level in the field of organic chemistry using mass spectrometers using gas chromatography and liquid chromatography.
Experience examining, interpreting, validating and assessing the quality of data/data products produced by mass spectrometers.
Experience planning, leading, and carrying out experiments, repairs, trouble shooting, maintenance and evaluation services related to mass spectrometer.
Experience planning, organizing, and carrying out the technical, analytical, experimental , or investigative portions of scientific research projects in the field of organic analytical chemistry.

Information on language requirements
Knowledge
Knowledge of principles of all common forms of chromatography.
Knowledge of the principles of mass spectrometry including various forms of mass analyzers and ionization techniques.
Knowledge of various techniques used in quantitative determinations
Knowledge of fundamental analytical chemistry and organic chemistry
Knowledge of requirements in method validation
Knowledge of quality management system

Experience
Experience in the operation and maintenance of a high resolution magnet sector mass spectrometer or a triple quadrupole tandem mass spectrometer.
Experience in the operation of the Atmospheric Pressure Gas Chromatography (APGC) coupled to mass spectrometer.
Experience providing expert technical, analytical, experimental, or investigative and advisory services in support of complex scientific projects in trace analysis of food contaminant.
Experience in the operation and maintenance of HPLC-MS systems (such as Q-TOF, MALDI-TOF, FTICR or Orbitraps MS systems) for the identification and quantification of proteins.
