The Public Service Commission is looking to staff an English as a Second Language Instructor. The key activities of the position are as follows:
- Teach English as a second language; develop, and facilitate language training sessions that include comprehension, reading and grammar activities.
- Prepare and adapt relevant teaching materials to meet the needs of learners.
- Conduct practice tests and targeted exercises to assess student progress, as well as determine the level of proficiency in the second language.
- Informally assess employees' language skills to prepare them for of the Public Service Commission assessments.
- Monitor the progress of students, in addition to providing advice and guidance to facilitate learning.
- Perform administrative tasks, such as producing reports on the progress of students, teachers and other staff.
- Keep abreast of developments in the field of language teaching to maintain and increase knowledge and skills in teaching a second language to adults.

The intent is to staff one position on a term basis for one year with a possibility of extension.

ED1. Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in education or linguistics.
