Work environment

The Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) is the federal government agency responsible for administering sentences of a term of two years or more, as imposed by the courts. CSC is responsible for managing institutions of various security levels and supervising offenders under conditional release in the community.

Intent of the process

In anticipation of future needs, we will be establishing a fully qualified pool therefore candidates are encouraged to clearly articulate in their letter of offer how they meet any/all of the asset criteria. Point form is acceptable.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in education, linguistics, sociology, psychology, mathematics, physics, home economics or some other specialty relevant to the positions in the classification.

Possession of a valid teaching certificate from a province or territory of Canada and eligibility for a valid teaching certificate from the Ontario College of Teachers.

Degree equivalency

Recent *teaching experience*

Ability to analyze, evaluate and make recommendations concerning student needs and requirements. Ability to prepare acceptable courses and modules of study consistent with Ontario Ministry of Education policy.
Ability to manage multiple learning needs in a single classroom setting.
