**Amendment to Salary Information
Alberta Region’s manager of regional administration and finance leads a diverse team of nine staff who support the region in delivering programs aimed at diversifying the economy in western Canada. The unit is responsible for a variety of functions, which include:
- administering payments and initiating receivables on grants and contributions projects;
- performing budgeting and forecasting activities for the region; and
- overseeing accommodations services for the Edmonton and Calgary offices.
The manager reports to the Director General, Operations (Alberta) and is an important member of a management team that leads the delivery of WD’s programs in Alberta. The manager also works directly with the Assistant Deputy Minister on the Alberta Senior Management team and alongside other regional and headquarters colleagues to shape WD’s program development and delivery.

Degree from a recognized university in commerce, business administration, economics, mathematics, statistics, accounting or finance OR an acceptable combination of education, training and experience relevant to the position.
Experience:
• *Significant experience with grants and contributions contract management.
• *Significant experience developing operating budgets and forecasting.
• *Significant experience preparing briefing materials and providing strategic advice to senior management.
• Experience leading or managing a team of professionals.
* Significant is defined as the experience normally acquired through the repeated performance of duties for a period of three years.
Knowledge:
• Knowledge of legislation/policy related to the financial management of grants and contributions.
• Knowledge of financial management principles/practices.
• Knowledge of public sector accounting standards/practices.

Asset Qualification:
• Degree in business from a recognized post-secondary institution with a major in accounting.
