Develops operational plans, national engineering standards and guidelines related to capital project planning, life-cycle management, facility maintenance and environmental management; advises regional SCH engineers on technical issues; leads and coordinates research and design initiatives; develops guidance and procedures related to new or revised legislation or regulations applicable to SCH infrastructure.

EDUCATION
Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with a specialization in civil engineering or some other engineering specialty relevant to the duties of the position.
OCCUPATIONAL CERTIFICATION
Eligibility for certification as a professional Engineer in Canada.
EXPERIENCE
Experience in leading both the production and evaluation of engineering studies and reports.
Significant experience* in providing advice and recommendations to management (‘Management’ means supervisory positions or higher).
Experience with stakeholder relationships.
Experience in the interpretation of environmental policies, or guidelines as they relate to federal real property management.
* Significant experience is defined as experience associated with having performed a broad range of related activities (depth and breadth), which could normally be acquired during a period of at least 2years.
EXPERIENCE
Experience in applying Canadian rules and regulations pertaining to the design and construction of various types of assets, related to civil and /or structural engineering.
Experience in developing standards, guidelines and best practices in the field of marine or civil engineering.
Experience in presenting results, reports or studies to committees and working groups.
Bilingual - Imperative (CBC/CBC)
Other various bilingual imperative profiles may also be used.
