A pool of partially qualified candidates may be created to staff similar positions with various tenures (indeterminate, deployment, specified period, assignment, secondment), various security requirements and various language profiles. By default and in the interest of the greater public service, pools created as a result of collective staffing processes at ISED will be shared with other government departments.

EDUCATION 1:
► Successful completion of two years of an acceptable post-secondary educational program in computer science, information technology, information management or another specialty relevant to the position to be staffed.

Notes:
1. Indeterminate period incumbents of positions in the CS group on May 10, 1999, who do not possess the education prescribed above, are deemed to meet the minimum education standards based on their education, training and/or experience. They must be accepted as having met the minimum education standard whenever this standard is called for when staffing positions in the CS group.
2. It is the recognized educational institution (e.g. community college, CÉGEP or university) that determines if the courses taken by a candidate correspond to two years of a post-secondary program at the institution.
3. At the manager's discretion, an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience may serve as an alternative to the minimum post-secondary education stated above. Whenever the minimum education is met using this alternative, it is met for the specific position only and must be re-assessed for other positions for which this alternative has been specified by the manager.

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCES FOR ALL POSITIONS:
► EXPERIENCE 1:
Experience in analyzing requirements or issues and providing technical advice to senior management or clients.

► EXPERIENCE 2:
Experience working as part of multi-disciplinary team in the domain of Information Management or Information Technology (IM/IT) environment.

► EXPERIENCE 3:
Experience providing support to resolve complex issues in a domain of Information Management or Information Technology (IM/IT) environment.

ADDITIONAL EXPERIENCES:
► EXPERIENCE 4:
Recent* experience in implementing or participating in the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) phases for large multi-tiered applications or other large applications, such as development, design, testing, operations support and configuration.
*Recent experience is defined as within the past five (5) years.

► EXPERIENCE 5:
Experience in providing innovative solutions in the domain of Information Management or Information Technology (IM/IT).

► EXPERIENCE 6:
Experience querying, maintaining or developing applications using a relational database such as Oracle.

► EXPERIENCE 7:
Recent experience* in Group Policy Object (GPO**) management
*Recent experience is defined as within the past five (5) years.
**GPO, a collection of Group Policy settings that defines what a system will look like and how it will behave for a defined group of users.

► EXPERIENCE 8:
Experience in testing, such as:

► EXPERIENCE 9:
Experience managing, planning, scheduling and controlling of software releases through different stages and environments, including deployment, such as SAP* or SCCM**.
*SAP - is an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) also known as the Government of Canada Integrated Financial Materiel System (IFMS), which is the financial systems of records that supports initiatives that are important in achieving departmental financial priorities and objectives.
**SCCM, System Center Configuration Manager.

► EXPERIENCE 10:
Experience developing and adapting processes to changing business needs.

► EXPERIENCE 11:
Experience providing technical expertise in the development, management and maintenance of software scripts for the automated installation of desktop software in an enterprise Windows desktop environment using one or more of the following tools: Microsoft Visual Studio’s VB.NET, Install Shield, Wise Package Editor.

► EXPERIENCE 12:
Experience with information architecture or data management, such as experience with functional support of GCdocs*.
*GCdocs is the Government of Canada's document management application. GCdocs replaces the use of sector-based shared drives at Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada (ISED). GCdocs allows ISED employees to create, save, find and share content with their colleagues across the department using a single, centralized tool.

► EXPERIENCE 13:
Experience in architecting and supporting solutions around SAP ecosystems and a technology stack of SAP Enterprise Core Component (ECC), System Landscape Directory (SLD), Process Integration (PI/PO), Fiori, Content Management and Solution Manager.
*SAP - an unfunded contribution program, supports ad-hoc initiatives that are important in achieving departmental priorities and objectives, and that are strategic to the Delivery Sectors in relation to their objectives and activities.

► EXPERIENCE 14:
Hands-on experience with SAP BASIS tasks, such as designing and implementing landscape and infrastructure, client strategy, capacity planning (sizing), backup and recovery strategy, SAP upgrades, OS/DB migration, systems refresh/client copies and BASIS administration, within an enterprise environment.

► EXPERIENCE 15:
Experience executing and coordinating SAP system upgrades and enhancement package installation.

► EXPERIENCE 16:
Recent* experience in Information Technology Security (IT).
*Recent experience is defined as within the past five (5) years.

► EXPERIENCE 17:
Experience in the configuration, maintenance and support of SAP* (IFMS)** Security, Roles and Authorizations in an Enterprise Resource Planning environment.

Experience with SAP Authorization concept, roles, user administration and Segregation of duties (SOD) conflict resolution.
