The Cadet Program is one of the largest federally sponsored youth programs in Canada. It is a national program for young Canadians aged 12 to 18 who are interested in participating in a variety of fun, challenging and rewarding activities while learning about the Sea, Army and Air activities of the Canadian Armed Forces.
The Cadet Program is community-based. The program succeeds through strong community support and involvement. Cadets in turn make valuable contributions to their communities.

A pool of qualified candidates will be established to staff similar positions within the Department of National Defence with various tenures in various locations, with various security clearance levels and/or various linguistic profiles.

Education :
EDU1: Secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
Occupational Certification:
OC1: Possession of a current Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) Licence M1 category issued by Transport Canada.
Experience:
EX1: Experience in the repair, servicing and maintenance of fixed wing aircraft.
EX2: Experience in the use of Microsoft programs such as MS Word, Excel or Outlook.
Asset Occupational Certification:
AOC1: M2 Licence
AOC2: S Licence
Asset Experience:
AEX1: Experience in the maintenance, repair and servicing of Schweizer gliders and Light aircraft.
AEX2: Experience in completing engine installations, and rigging of engine and constant speed propeller controls.
AEX3: Experience in the application and repair of fabric aircraft coverings.
AEX4: Experience in a DND aircraft maintenance organization as an aircraft technician or civilian Approved Maintenance Organization (AMO).
AEX5: Experience in sheet metal or steel tube structure fabrication and repair.

K1: Knowledge of work site safety practices including the use and disposal of controlled substances under Hazardous Material and Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) regulations.
K2: Knowledge of the Canadian Aviation Regulations.

A2: Ability to read, interpret and apply aircraft manuals and drawings.
A3: Ability to use appropriate test equipment and diagnose problems in aircraft systems, conduct repairs, and maintain associated technical records for aircraft.

Must be willing and able to work weekends and overtime when required.

Must be willing and able to travel to various locations throughout Canada for meetings, conferences and to perform unscheduled maintenance on aircraft.
Willing and able to obtain and maintain a DND 404 drivers license.
Possession of a valid provincial Driver’s Licence.
Must be willing and able to lift heavy objects up to 45 kg (99 lbs) and stand for long periods of time.

It is insufficient to say that you have the required qualifications or to list your current or past duties. Rather, candidates must demonstrate how they meet the education and experience criteria listed in the job opportunity advertisement by providing CLEAR AND CONCRETE EXAMPLES.
