Intent of the process

The intent of this process is to staff one term FI-02 position. A pool of qualified candidates will be created and may be used to staff similar positions within various units and locations with the Department of National Defence.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

Education:

Stream 1 - FI-01
Graduation with a bachelor's degree from a recognized institution with specialization in accounting, finance, business administration, commerce or economics.

Stream 2 - FI-02
A degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with specialization in accounting, finance, business administration, commerce or economics AND experience related to positions in the Financial Management Group; or

Eligibility for a recognized professional accounting designation. The recognized professional accounting designations are Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA), Chartered Accountant (CA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA), Certified General Accountant (CGA).

Degree equivalency

Experience:

Stream 1 - FI-01
Experience in one of the following four areas:
• Analyzing financial information and preparing reports for management
• Using financial systems
• Providing advice, guidance and interpretation on financial information, policies, or procedures
• Processing financial transactions

Stream 2 - FI-02
Significant* experience in any three of the following five areas:
• Analyzing financial information and preparing reports for management
• Business planning and/or resource management
• Using financial systems
• Managing an in-year budget
• Providing advice, guidance and interpretation on financial information, policies, or procedures

*Significant experience is defined as having the depth and breadth of experience that would normally be acquired over a period of 2 years.

Ability to analyze financial data, evaluate issues and recommend plans and solutions
Ability to plan and prioritize work to meet deadlines

Experience:
Experience using SAP
Experience in the supervision of staff
Experience with salary management

Organizational Need:
