Intent of the process

The intent of this process is to staff 1 indeterminate position in Borden, Ontario. A pool of qualified candidates may be established and may be used to staff similar positions with varying tenures, including casual, within the Department of National Defence.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

Education:

EDU 1 Successful completion of secondary school
EDU 2 Electronics Engineering Technology diploma from an accredited Canadian College or an acceptable combination of studies, training and experience.

Degree equivalency

Experience:

EX1 Minimum of 3 years of recent* experience and 5 years accumulated experience in the repair or installation of electronic equipment/systems.
EX2 Experience working with electronics theory, including solid state, micro-miniature and integrated circuits.
EX3 Experience working with computers, computer operation and diagnostic software.

*Recent – within the last five years

If you possess any of the following, your application must also clearly explain how you meet it (other qualifications)

Asset Qualifications

AQ1 Experience in installations of electronic equipment in confined spaces such as: Military and Civilian vehicles including heavy equipment

AQ2 Experience in installation of electronic equipment in confined spaces such as vehicles.

AQ3 Experience in Project P25 (APCO- 25) trunked digital mobile radio communications systems in troubleshooting, repair and maintenance of complete end to end connectivity of system functionality.

Condition of Employment:

COE1 Secret clearance

COE2 Must be willing be willing and able to work in confined spaces where flexibility of movement is limited.

COE3 Willing and able to work overtime and weekends on short notice requests.

COE4 Willing and able to travel within Canada and United States

COE5 Work in adverse difficult terrain while holding equipment.

COE6 Possession of a valid and unrestricted motor vehicle driver’s license (Class G) issued by a Canadian province or territory*. *You may be required to provide an up-to-date and acceptable driver’s abstract if you are considered for appointment.

COE7 Must obtain and maintain a valid DND 404 Driver’s License throughout the entire period of employment

COE8 Will be required to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions.

COE9 Work in heights on ladders and masts.

COE10 Will be required to wear safety footwear at all times and occasionally other protective clothing such as a hard hat, gloves, smocks, dust masks, googles, etc.
