SELECTION PROCESS CANCELLED
We regret to inform you that this job opportunity has been cancelled.
Good day,
We would like to inform you that due to operational reasons and long delays associated with COVID-19, the EC-02 collective process (19-BAL-EA-1076) will be cancelled. Please note that a new collective process will be launched shortly and we invite you to submit your application. You will be able to use the same answers to the pre-screening questions as previously used, if they apply. We suggest that you sign up for the jobs.gc.ca email alerts to be informed when the new process is launched.
Thank you,
We are committed to providing an inclusive and barrier-free work environment, starting with the hiring process. If you need to be accommodated during any phase of the evaluation process, please use the Contact information below to request specialized accommodation. All information received in relation to accommodation will be kept confidential.
Stream 1: Archival Assistant in Archives Branch
Stream 2: Various positions in Public Services Branch (Orientation and Archival Technician; Reference Technician; Genealogy Consultant)
Candidates that apply will have to complete **SCREENING QUESTIONS** in order to clearly demonstrate that they meet the education and experience criteria (essential and asset qualifications). Therefore, please allow time for completing the screening questions.
Please note that the majority of our positions are bilingual. We will therefore assess applications from bilingual candidates first and may assess applications from unilingual candidates at a later date. Library and Archives Canada (LAC) may end the process if sufficient bilingual candidates successfully meet the criteria of these positions.
The ability to communicate effectively in writing will be evaluated by means of the screening question responses and the written exam (if a written exam is administered).
How to Apply to this Process:
Please respond to as many of the screening questions as you are able to.
You must clearly demonstrate how you meet the Qualifications. Please note that it will not suffice to state only that you meet a given qualification or to insert a list of current or past responsibilities. You must provide concrete examples to demonstrate how you meet the qualification and to describe where and how you gained the corresponding knowledge and experience. Should it be necessary, we will use your resume only as a means to verify your responses to the screening questions. Therefore, we will not accept responses that involve simply copying and pasting information from your resume.
You can apply to this process without having the Asset Qualifications; however, they may be used at a later time to determine the “right fit” candidate for a particular position. Asset Qualifications may be taken into account at any point in the staffing process by the hiring manager, including as a deciding factor in choosing the candidate. Candidates may also be hired solely on the strength of their responses to the Essential Qualifications, without meeting all or any Asset Qualifications.
