Stream 2 ED-EST-03: Vice Principal
This is an INDETERMINATE process for the Principal position and an ANTICIPATORY process for the Vice Principal position.
This process will be used to staff the Principal position indeterminately. It will also be used to create an anticipatory pool of qualified candidates which could be used to staff the Principal and Vice Principal positions. Please indicate for which position you are applying.
A pool of qualified candidates will be created as a result of this process for indeterminate and/or full time term positions at Le Goff School, Cold Lake First Nation, Alberta.
The pool could be used to offer acting appointments under exceptional circumstances in order to protect employee's indeterminate status.

A covering letter in 2,000 words (maximum) "Your cover letter will be used as the primary source to confirm you have the education and experience requested below. EDUCATION:
Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in education, linguistics, sociology, psychology, mathematics, physics, home economics or some other specialty relevant to the positions in the classification.
Note:
When education is required, candidates must always have a degree. The courses for the specialization must be acceptable and may have been taken at a recognized post-secondary institution, but not necessarily within a degree program in the required specialization. The specialization may also be obtained through an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
OCCUPATIONAL CERTIFICATION:
Possession of an acceptable teaching certificate from a province or territory.
EXPERIENCE:
Experience in education administration related to school organizations.

EDUCATION:
Stream 1 - Principal only: Possession of a valid Alberta teaching certificate.
Stream 1 - Principal only: Completion of a Bachelor of Education Program from a recognized post-secondary institution.
Stream 1 - Principal only: Master's degree from a recognized post-secondary institution.
Stream 2 - Vice Principal only: Possession of a valid Alberta teaching certificate.
Stream 2 - Vice Principal only: Completion of a Bachelor of Education Program from a recognized post-secondary institution.
EXPERIENCE:
Experience working with Indigenous people.
Experience working with Chief and Council of a First Nation or School Committees OR other agencies (i.e. RCMP, Victim Services, Health Services, Provincial School Boards, etc.).
Recent* and significant** experience in the supervision of instructional staff as a Principal, Vice Principal or Teacher in charge (i.e. Lead Teacher).
*Recent experience is defined as experience within the last 5 years.
**Significant experience is defined as experience within the last 5 years where 2 of those years included supervision of instructional staff as a Principal, Vice Principal or Teacher in charge. (i.e. Lead Teacher).
ABILITIES & SKILLS:
Ability to communicate orally in Denesųłįné in an immersion setting or as a second language.
Ability to communicate in writing in Denesųłįné in an immersion setting as a second language.
