The Global Issues and Development Branch at Global Affairs Canada advances Canadian priorities through thematic policy leadership, managing large global investments and delivering specialized knowledge and advice on key global development issues, including health, environment, climate change, development finance, food security, gender equality, gender-based violence, child protection, governance and economic growth and education. The Global Issues and Development Branch also delivers effective, needs-based humanitarian assistance in response to complex emergencies and natural disasters in developing countries. It is also the lead in Canadian engagement with multilateral and global organizations, including the United Nations, International Financial Institutions, the Commonwealth, and La Francophonie.

The current need is to staff EC-06 positions within Global Affairs Canada’s Global Issues and Development Branch on an indeterminate basis with the following linguistic profile: Bilingual imperative BBB/BBB or Bilingual imperative CBC/CBC. This process may be used to establish a pool of partially qualified candidates which may be used to staff similar positions with various tenures and linguistic profiles within Global Affairs Canada. Based on needs, we may use asset qualifications to assess some candidates for a given sector.

Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in economics, sociology or statistics.

- Agriculture.
Experience working on multilateral issues or with multilateral organizations in the context of international development.
Experience in leading the development of bilateral agreements with various stakeholders such as the private and public sectors, as well as bilateral organizations.
Experience with the private sector, in areas such as conducting investment due diligence, project finance, analyzing financial information or conducting financial risk assessments.
Recent** and significant*** experience in planning or assessing project proposals, particularly in relation to the achievement of evidence-based gender equality results OR human rights OR education.
Recent** and significant*** experience in capacity building on gender equality OR human rights OR education, such as producing tools, providing training and sharing best practices.
Approximately five (5) years experience undertaking technical analysis of, and developing and implementing monitoring and evaluation frameworks for international assistance projects or programs related to health OR education.
