While the Courts Administration Service pays their employees through Phoenix, we have in-house Compensation services which includes direct access to a Compensation Advisor in Ottawa for timely resolution of any pay issues that arise.

You will be required to show how you demonstrate the essential qualifications (i.e. Education, Experience and/or Occupational Certification) for the initial screening through your resume and in answering online screening questions. It is NOT sufficient to only state that the qualifications are met or to provide a listing of current or past responsibilities. Rather you must clearly demonstrate HOW, WHEN, and WHERE the qualification was met through substantiation by examples. Information on your described skills, experience, etc. provided in the screening questions should be supported by your resume. Duties include the following activities:
• Litigation processing and Court Services for judiciary and litigants.
• Information and liaison services for judiciary, staff, lawyers, litigants and the general public.
• Procedural advice and assistance to the general public and internal and external clients litigants, lawyers, Federal Boards, Tribunal, interveners, witnesses) staff, media on the filing of legal and originating documents submitted to the Courts and prepared by the Courts.
• Compliance services, guidance, support and advice on procedural requirements to general public, clients lawyers, litigants and other registry staff.
• Coordinates activities within the court environment prior to the arrival of the judge or prothonotary; records minutes of hearings; and serves as Court Registrar/Court Technician at sittings of the Courts.
The Courts Administration Service (CAS) provides services to the Federal Court of Appeal, the Federal Court, the Court Martial Appeal Court of Canada and the Tax Court of Canada.

Successful completion of two (2) years of post-secondary education* OR an acceptable combination of education, training and experience related to the position**.
Definitions:
*Post-secondary education means years of education following high school graduation (grade 12 or secondary V).
**Acceptable combination of education, training and experience related to the position is defined as a high school graduation (grade 12 or secondary V) and three (3) years of work experience in a legal, judicial or quasi-judicial environment***.
***Judicial or quasi-judicial environment means a Federal Board, Commission, Tribunal or Court (Federal, Provincial or Municipal).
Experience providing front line service to internal and/or external clients.
Experience making recommendations and providing procedural advice to internal and/or external clients.
Recent**** and significant***** experience applying acts and/or regulations.
Definitions:
****Recent is defined as within the last two (2) years.
***** Significant refers to the breadth and depth of experience and is defined as a combination of time spent doing the activity, as well as type (range, scope, and complexity) of work handled related to the experience criteria.
Graduation with a degree from a recognized university and/or graduation with a diploma or certificate from a recognized college.
Experience working as a Registry Officer or similar position in a Federal Board, Commission or Tribunal.
Experience working at Courts Administration Service.
Experience working in a judicial or quasi-judicial environment*** in a role directly supporting the work of the Court and/or Tribunal, board and/or legal environment.
