EDUCATION:
Have completed a postsecondary program in a field related to the position.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE:
1- *Significant experience in Asset Life Cycle Management.
2- *Significant experience in coordinating of multidisciplinary project teams composed of professionals, consultants or different trades.
3- **Experience in resolving complex issues with clients and / or stakeholders.
4- ***Experience in managing human and financial resources.
5- *Significant experience in projects management

*Significant experience is understood to mean the depth and breadth of the experience, normally acquired by performing a broad range of various related activities over a minimum period of two (2) full years.
**Complex issues are issues with at least three (3) of the following characteristics: multi-dimensional, multi-jurisdictional, sensitive, confidential, affecting many partners or stakeholders, precedent setting or having a major impact on the public service or having a potential for significant media coverage.
***Human Resources Management: Applicants must clearly demonstrate that they have supervised staff members, assign work, managed and evaluated performance, and implemented training plans. Applicants must also specify the number of employees they supervised directly.
***For financial management applicants must clearly demonstrate how they have managed financial resources, which includes planning, managing, allocating and tracking a budget. Applicants must indicate the size of the budget they managed and for what duration.

1- Knowledge of principles related to assets life cycle management.
2- Knowledge of procurement mechanisms (such as procurement or purchasing) within the Government of Canada.
3- Knowledge of principles and practices related to project management.
4- Knowledge of Canadian Coast Guard programs / services.

1- Ability to analyze problems and make recommendations.
2- Ability to manage projects of a technical or operational nature.
3- Ability to manage resources (HR and finances).
4- Ability to communicate orally.
5- Ability to communicate in written form.

EXPERIENCE:
1- Experience in maintenance and management of the life cycle of assets in a maritime environment.
2- Experience in using Maximo Software.
3- Experience of project management in a maritime environment.

KNOWLEDGE:
1- Knowledge of the geographical features of the operating territory of Fisheries and Oceans and the Canadian Coast Guard in the Central and Arctic Region.

Conditions of employment

Reliability Status security clearance

1- Have a valid class 5 driver’s licence (or equivalent) and accept to drive a motor vehicle.
2- Must be willing to travel to remote locations by various modes of transportation
3- Must be willing to travel for extended periods.
4- Consent to move on port infrastructure, difficult terrain and construction sites in adverse weather conditions.
