This process will be used to staff the position of Director General, Workforce Development & Wellness Services and may also be used to staff similar positions within Environment and Climate Change Canada.

EDUCATION
Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution.
EXPERIENCE
Recent* and significant** experience in labour relations.
Experience in developing and implementing strategic and operational initiatives, policies or programs.
Experience in providing strategic advice on complex human resources related files to senior management***.
Experience in developing strategic partnerships with a variety of clients and stakeholders to address human resources issues.
Significant experience in managing**** human and financial resources at the executive level.
NOTES:
* “Recent” is understood to mean experience within the last 5 years.
**“Significant” is defined as the depth and breadth of experience associated with having performed the duties normally acquired over a period of three (3) to five (5) years.
*** “Senior management” is considered to be at the Assistant Deputy Minister level and above.
**** “Managing” is defined as having direct delegated authority and accountability for human and financial operations and maintenance (O&M) resources through at least three (3) complete budgetary cycles.

Information on employment equity
Candidates will be asked, as per the application process, to answer screening questions for the education and experience criteria. Candidates will have to provide concrete examples for each screening question, demonstrating how they have acquired the education and experience criteria in one or two paragraphs or 400 words or less. Please note that it is not sufficient to only state that the qualification is met or to provide a listing of current or past responsibilities. Resumes will be used as a secondary source to validate your answers to the screening questions. Failure to clearly demonstrate in your answers how you meet the education and experience screening criteria may result in the rejection of your application.
Note: A cover letter will not be required as the screening questions will be used for screening purposes.
