The Compliance Officer at the Commissioner of Canada Elections (CCE) will work in the Compliance Unit, a small team applying various tools available to ensure compliance with, and enforcement of, the Canada Elections Act.
To this end, they will be responsible for:
- Preparing a wide variety of documents, including caution letters, and assist in the preparations of more complex documents such as notices of violation imposing administrative monetary penalties, compliance agreements, and undertakings;
- Preparing and presenting various briefing notes for management; and
- Helping maintain a legal information management system (such as an annotated Canada Elections Act in a SharePoint wiki, and the CCE’s Complaint Tracking System).
The Compliance Officer will also assist the Senior Compliance Officers as well as the Manager of the unit in the execution of their duties.
The office of the Commissioner for Canada Elections (CCE) is located at 22 Eddy Street, in the heart of downtown Gatineau. Our location is easily accessible and is located near Terrasses de la Chaudière and just a few kilometers away from downtown Ottawa.

The intent of this process is to staff two indeterminate positions with a bilingual language profile of CBB/CBB.
A pool may be created to staff similar positions within the CCE and other government departments, upon the CCE’s approval, with bilingual linguistic profiles BBB/BBB, CBC/CBC or CCC/CCC.

EDUCATION
- A secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
EXPERIENCE
- Experience in applying policies, procedures or guidelines.
- Experience in preparing written and oral briefing notes to management.

- A bachelor degree from a recognized university.

- Experience in the application of compliance and enforcement processes and procedures.
