Intent of the process

A list of partially or fully qualified candidates may be established through this process to staff identical or similar positions within the Department of Public Services and Procurement Canada. The pool may be used to initiate any appointment process for positions with various tenures, various linguistic requirements and various security requirements. The position is located in Ottawa, but the pool may be used for positions located in Gatineau.

EDUCATION
Graduation from a recognized post-secondary institution with specialization in Electrical engineering/Technology or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

Degree equivalency

LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS
One of the following:
• Valid provincial electrical construction and maintenance Certificate of Qualification (C of Q)
• Canadian Fire Alarm Association (CFAA)
• Certified Engineering Technologist or Technician
• Professional Engineer in a Province or territory

EXPERIENCES
Experience in the installation, operation, and maintenance of commercial/ industrial electrical systems such as, but not limited to: fire alarm, emergency generator, high / low voltage distribution serving office or special purpose facilities.

Experience in managing maintenance contracts for building related equipment.

Experience using various software programs such as Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel.

Ability and willingness to work overtime as required.
