Work environment

Intent of the process

An inventory of applications or a pool of qualified candidates may be established and may be used to staff identical and/or similar positions within DND with various locations, various linguistic profiles and/or requirements, security levels, employment types and tenures which may vary according to the position being staffed.

Education:
EDU1: A secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination of training or experience.

Degree equivalency

Experience:
EX1: Experience inputting data and producing reports using various automated database systems.
EX2: Experience maintaining filing systems.

If you possess any of the following, your application must also clearly explain how you meet it (other qualifications)

Asset Experience:
AEX1: Experience working in a warehouse for at least six (6) months during the past five (5) years.
AEX2: Experience using computerized warehouse and inventory management systems.
AEX3: Experience in the operation of Material Handling Equipment.

Knowledge:
K1: Knowledge of safe work practices within a warehouse environment.

Abilities:
A1: Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations such as: addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.

A3: Ability to communicate effectively in writing.

Willing and able to work overtime, as needed.

Conditions of employment

Reliability Status security clearance - or Secret Clearance

Must hold a valid provincial driver’s licence.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a DND driving permit (DND 404).
Willing and able to work at heights.
Willing and able to work in confined spaces.
Willing and able to work in a dusty environment.
Must be able to lift and transport items weighing up to 20 kg.
Willing and able to work shifts (day, evening, night).
Must wear CSA-approved footwear and any other personal protective equipment (PPE) required.
