Duties

As a Program Services Officer, you will undertake non-complex investigations in order to prevent, detect and discourage frauds and abuses relating to programs overseen by the Department.

Your analytical skills, your judgment and your communication skills will be put to good use. You will be part of a strong and innovative team that has evolved since its creation.

The activities to be performed as part of your duties will include:

• Perform fact research and non complex investigations/interviews within the designated authority, and dispatch files with potential charges, complex cases and investigations that require an outside visit to an investigator PM-02 or PM-03, or to a Payment Services Officer;

• Apply the correct sections of the law, according to the dispositions of the delegation mechanism, in order to render decisions regarding the non-complex cases, in accordance with established procedures and guidelines.

EDUCATION:

A secondary school diploma OR employer-approved alternatives (a satisfactory score on the PSC test approved as an alternative to a high school diploma, or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience).

Foreign Studies:

Cognitive Ability - Level 1

Applicants must complete the Unsupervised Internet Test of Cognitive Ability - Level 1 as part of the screening for this selection process. This test assesses general problem solving and reasoning ability. You will have 60 minutes to complete the test. You must complete the test before you submit your application for this position.
